Digital Registry of Graves

So That Visiting Remains Possible

Ziyarati (زيارتي, “my visit”) records, maps, and documents graves in Moroccan cemeteries — so a family can always find a loved one, even when the markers are gone.

Our Mission

Making every grave findable, for good

Ziyarati does not seek to replace a family's memory: it gives that memory a support that does not fade. Every cemetery surveyed becomes a register that can be consulted and passed from one generation to the next.

Preserve

Document what exists today, before time, weather, and construction erase the last legible inscriptions.

Pass On

A digital register can be shared, corrected, and passed on — where a handwritten notebook disappears with the person who kept it.

Make Visiting Simple

Arriving at the cemetery knowing exactly where to go: that is all a family coming to pay their respects asks for.

How It Works

Three Steps So No Grave Is Ever Lost Again

01

Survey

Every existing grave is surveyed on the ground, plot by plot, recording its inscriptions and condition.

02

Geolocation

Each grave receives a precise position, viewable on a digital map of the cemetery.

03

Grave Record

Name, dates, location, and photo brought together in a simple record the family can access at any time.

The Reality

29,081 Cemeteries, Almost No Registries

In Morocco, the vast majority of cemeteries have no reliable register of graves. Over the years, old graves become impossible to find, family plots are lost, and families can no longer visit their deceased for lack of any marker. Ziyarati was created to reverse this trend, one cemetery at a time.

01
A Silent Problem

The disappearance of paper registers and physical markers affects millions of families, often without their realizing it until the day they need them.

02
A Lasting Digital Solution

Once a survey is done and paired with precise geolocation, it no longer gets lost — unlike a paper register or an oral memory.

03
A Project Led by CANOPUS

Ziyarati is designed, developed, and operated by CANOPUS, a digital studio based in Salé, with the same rigor it brings to its ERP consulting work.

04
A Gradual Rollout

The project advances cemetery by cemetery, starting with a pilot site, before expanding to other cities across the Kingdom.
